Train · Intercity bus · Driving · Onward to Laplae

Uttaradit sits on the Northern Line, with several ways to reach it from both Bangkok and Chiang Mai. This article covers every option for getting to Uttaradit and Laplae, with approximate distances and times, plus how to continue from town into Laplae and on to the resort.

Ways to Reach Uttaradit

Uttaradit is a key junction on the Northern Line; almost every Bangkok–Chiang Mai train stops at Uttaradit station. From Bangkok (Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal) it takes about 7 hours or more depending on the train type, arriving at Uttaradit railway station right in the city centre, where it's easy to continue into Laplae.

By road it's just as convenient. From Bangkok you can drive or take an intercity bus, a distance of about 491 km taking around 6 hours, running the Asian Highway via Nakhon Sawan and Phitsanulok. From Chiang Mai heading south it's about 270 km and around 4 hours, with intercity buses and vans running between the cities.

Once you reach Uttaradit town, Laplae lies about 8 km to the west. You can continue by local songthaew / hired vehicle, taxi or a ride-hailing app. If you're driving yourself, it's an easy run on into Laplae. Let us know ahead and the resort can suggest routes and connection points.
